Using it on board

Landblink is designed for airline passengers. Its maps and recordings work offline; satellite positioning depends on reception, and weather requires a pre-flight sync.

Airplane mode

Keep your phone in airplane mode throughout the flight. Satellite reception is completely passive. Your phone listens to radio signals broadcast from orbit without transmitting any energy. The app does not need cellular data or onboard Wi-Fi.

Satellite reception

The metal fuselage of an aircraft blocks satellite signals. Reception varies with your phone and conditions inside the cabin. Initial acquisition can take several minutes. Give the receiver time to track visible satellites; when reception is limited, the app identifies estimated and unavailable readings.

Crew instructions and cabin safety

Follow flight crew instructions at all times. Safety regulations always come first. If cabin crew ask you to stow portable electronic devices for taxi, takeoff, turbulence, or landing, put your phone away immediately. Never hold your phone against the window or wedge it into window shades during takeoff and landing. Keep aisles, exits, and tray tables clear.

Battery care

Continuous satellite tracking and map rendering draw steady power. For long flights, dim your screen or turn the display off while recording continues in the background. If your seat has USB power, plug in once portable devices are permitted. If you carry an external battery pack, ensure it complies with airline carry-on limits and keep it well ventilated.
