Landblink is built on work other people did first. This page says whose, and under what terms.

The map

The basemap is Natural Earth — 1:50m land, lakes and country boundary lines, with 1:110m populated places and country labels, all simplified to about a kilometre before being bundled. Natural Earth is in the public domain. Map rendering in the app is MapLibre GL, BSD-2-Clause.

Airports and places

The airport table is a trimmed export from OurAirports, which is public domain. The airport-to-timezone mapping is derived from an OpenFlights snapshot under ODbL 1.0 / DbCL 1.0; the retrieval date and file digest are recorded in the app's own airport_timezones-LICENSE.txt. The city gazetteer is derived from Natural Earth populated places.

Satellites

Orbit products come from public analysis centres — GFZ, Geoscience Australia, and NASA CDDIS where the operator's credentials allow. Broadcast almanac and ephemeris come from the phone's own receiver. Satellite photographs are used under their individual licences, which the app lists in full on its Credits screen with a link to each source; most are public domain or Creative Commons from Wikimedia Commons.

Weather

Route weather and winds aloft come from Open-Meteo, whose data is CC BY 4.0. Turbulence is an Ellrod-style index computed by Landblink from those winds. It is an estimate, and the app says so wherever it is shown.

On the phone

Boarding-pass barcodes are decoded on-device by ML Kit's bundled barcode scanner. The pass is parsed by Landblink itself, and the parsers do not read the passenger name or the booking reference — that is a property of the code, not a promise.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, or a licence is missing, say so and it will be fixed.

Website imagery and typography

The Alpine landscape is AI-generated illustrative artwork, not a photograph from a recorded flight. App screenshots are captured from the actual Android interface with deterministic fictional data; none comes from a passenger’s recorded flight. Instrument Sans and Source Serif 4 are used under the SIL Open Font License.
